Dawson Creek’s second murder of the year is being tied to the on-going drug war, that has gripped the city for the past two years.
CJDC TV News has learned that Emily Ogden’s body was discovered on Monday, April 14th, near 231 Road in Arras.
Two suspects were brought in for questioning after Ogden’s body was discovered. The pair were both released without being charged.
The male questioned is known to police. He was also the target of a violent home invasion on 107th Avenue in February 2024.
Odgen was charged by police in connection to that incident. Sources close to the investigation, speaking on the condition of anonymity said, it’s believed she was there to steal drugs and money. The victim was allegedly hit in the face with a sawed off shot gun and sent to hospital.
Police were back at that same house over the long weekend. Investigators wearing white jumpsuits were combing the residence for evidence. Black plastic sheets had been put over the windows preventing the public from seeing inside.
The home was one of four scenes around the Dawson Creek area that police had secured, since the 24-year old’s death
Ogden was reported missing on March 21st, 2025 in Lloydminster, Alberta. After being located, she was reported missing once again, this time by police in Fort St. John on April 10th, 2025.
Ogden was connected to organized crime in Dawson Creek. Sources tell CJDC TV News that her murder is being connected to the drug war in Dawson Creek, that has seen 10 people murdered in the past 2 years.
The RCMP’s E-Division is leading the investigation and asking anyone with any information on the case to contact police.
