District of Tumbler Ridge announces candidates for upcoming by-election

The District of Tumbler Ridge has revealed the candidates for the upcoming by-election, which was triggered by the resignation of Ken Klikach on January 20th.

Klikach had been in office since 2022.

The candidates vying for a seat on the council are David Thompson, Donald McPherson, Keith Bertrand, and Natasha Dougherty.

Electors in the district had until March 11 to challenge the nominations.

Advanced voting will take place on April 2nd and 9th, with the by-election scheduled for April 12th.

Those interested in becoming election officers have until March 14th to apply on the district’s website.
