Fort St. John has welcomed Jaime Moffat as the new Officer in Charge of the local RCMP detachment.

Moffat took over the role of Detachment Commander this week, filling a position that has been vacant since former Inspector Anthony ‘Tony’ Hanson left the detachment. Hanson departed from the position in January 2024 to take up a new role in Red Deer.

Moffat, who is now entering her 24th year of service with the RCMP, previously served as the Detachment Commander in Tumbler Ridge.

She was also the interim supervisor in Dawson Creek until a new Detachment Commander was appointed there.
