Human remains have been discovered in Fort Nelson. Sources say a body was discovered at a house on Klahannie Drive.
Police were on scene Tuesday and had part of the neighbourhood blocked off. The Northern Rockies RCMP are releasing very little information about the investigation.
CJDC TV News reached out to police in Fort Nelson to confirm the name of the deceased person. We also asked if the death was suspicious in nature and if there was any threat to public safety.
Mounties could only confirm that human remains were found in the Fort Nelson area, as it is early in their investigation.
Sources also say that the house in question was an abandoned dwelling, however that is unable to be confirmed at this time.
Police added that the BC Coroner’s Service is working to confirm identity of the body.
