Human remains discovered in a Fort Nelson house are those of Michael McCann, according to numerous sources.
A number sources say that McCann’s body was discovered at the house on Klahannie Drive Tuesday. Other sources contend that his body was located in the forest behind Klahannie Trailer Park.
McCann was reported missing by the RCMP in Fort Nelson on February 17.
The Northern Rockies RCMP are releasing very little information about the investigation. CJDC TV News reached out to police in Fort Nelson to ask if the death was suspicious in nature and if there was any threat to public safety.
Mounties could only confirm that human remains were found in the Fort Nelson area, as it is early in their investigation.
It remains unclear how long McCann’s body was in the house.
CJDC TV News also asked why police issued the missing person report for McCann, however they declined to answer the question.
Police say the BC Coroner’s Service is working to confirm identity of the body.
