B-C’s River Forecast Centre said, as on March 1st, the snowpack level in the Peace Region sits at 79 per cent of normal. That’s a slight drop from 83 per cent in February.
The Fort Nelson and the surrounding Liard region is 98 per cent of normal - a 10 per cent decrease from the previous month.
While the snowpack numbers look relatively healthy, the rain this spring will be the main factor in alleviating drought conditions in Northeast B-C.
The average snowpack for the province currently sits a 73 per cent. That is a one percent increase from February.
