One person was airlifted to hospital after a snowmobile accident north of Fort St. John.
According to North Peace Search and Rescue (NPSAR), the accident occurred on Friday afternoon in a field near Cypress Creek Road.
The BC Ambulance Service requested help from Search and Rescue, which sent a rapid response team to the scene, along with a backup ground team and a helicopter.
“The rapid response team was able to manage the task quickly with fading daylight and transferred the subject to BC Ambulance via helicopter,” according to an NPSAR post on its Facebook page.
The victim was taken to hospital. It’s not clear at this point what the extent of their injuries are and what may have contributed to the accident.
