On January 17th, a drug search warrant was executed at a home in Fort St. John, resulting in the arrest of one person.
Members of the Fort St. John Street Enforcement Team, with assistance from the RCMP Emergency Response Team, carried out the warrant due to the ‘high-risk nature’ of the investigation.
The investigation began after the Street Enforcement Team observed traffic to a home on the 8900 block of 77th Street, consistent with an alleged ‘dial-a-dope’ or drug trafficking operation.
“The use of the Emergency Response Team ensured a safe execution of the search warrant for our officers, the public, and our suspect,” said Corporal Connor Watson of the Fort St. John Street Enforcement Team.
Inside the residence, one suspect was found along with firearms and evidence supporting drug trafficking. The suspect was arrested and then released pending further investigation.
The Fort St. John Street Enforcement Team will be seeking firearm and drug trafficking charges as part of the investigation.
“This successful enforcement action is a continuation of the team’s proactive efforts to suppress drug trafficking in town,” added Watson.
